"The Sonic Terminator - Part Five"
Writer: Nigel Kitching
Artist: Richard Elson

With the Time Stone, Sonic ventures back into the past and finds the machine that caused the changes on the Miracle Planet. Due to his small size, he is able to enter the machine and destroys it from within.

Sonic then travels back to the present just in time to prevent Metal Sonic from terminating his other self. As before, he hands over the Time Stone and sends the other Sonic back in time. Due to the changes in the past, the Miracle Planet is returned to normal and all machinery disappears, including the Metal Sonic. For now...

Sonic The Poster Magazine #4 - June 1994
"Way of the Warrior"

Rather than a Sonic-based story, this was a continuation of StC's Shinobi strip.

Sonic the Summer Special - June 1994
"Doctor Sun"
Writer: Uncredited
Artist: Uncredited

The father of a young badger asks Sonic and Tails to retrieve his son from the clutches of a mysterious cult. Getting to the compound is hard enough in itself, and once there, the fat leader with the booming voice seems familiar...

"Attack of the Badniks"
Writer: Uncredited
Artist: Uncredited

In which Tails works his Tails off to slip away from pursuers, only for Sonic to waltz in and claim the glory for himself in the final panels.

"Test Drive"
Writer: Uncredited
Artist: Uncredited

An underwhelming slapstick strip in which it takes an entire six pages to show Robotnik hitting Grimer on the head with what is basically a mobile mallet, before being hit by it himself.

"Guardian of the Chaos Emeralds"
Writer: Uncredited
Artist: Uncredited

The first appearance of Knuckles being in a characteristically overpriced special issue may've made one or two people miss out, but they didn`t miss too much. This explains how, when the Death Egg crashed onto the Floating Island (at the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 3), Robotnik tricked Knuckles into believing that Sonic was the enemy.

Aside from its strips, this issue also contained:

A brief history of the Sonic phenomenon
Profiles of the main characters from the upcoming Sonic and Knuckles game
A complete list of Sonic game cheats
And an interview with Doctor Robotnik.

Sonic The Comic #29 - July 1994
"The Sentinel"
Writer: Nigel Kitching
Artist: Ferran Rodriguez

Whilst exploring the Aquatic Ruin Zone, Sonic disturbs a huge stone sentinel that has been resting at the bottom of a lake. Since it doesn`t recognise Sonic as its master - referring instead to a mysterious earlier civilisation - it attacks; but is so ancient that it crumbles away before it can do any real harm, leaving Sonic only able to ponder its origins.

Keep this one in mind, everyone. This is one plot hole that does actually get filled. Eventually.

"The Morbidden Hunt - Part Two"
Writer: Mark Eyles
Artist: Cassanovas

Tails heads deeper sand deeper into the Morbidden Lands, where he is attacked by a hungry gryphon. He defeats it (by good luck more than good management, as usual), only to find that his actions have been witnessed by two centaurs from the nearby village of Portstable, which the creature had been terrorising. The village`s grateful inhabitants equip him with their fastest flying ship and send him on his way. But he hasn`t gone far before he crashes into the coast, and receives some unwelcome attention.

Sonic The Comic #30 - July 1994
"Metamorphia"
Writer: Lew Stringer
Artist: Mike Hadley

A young female comes crying for the hedgehog`s aid, as they often do. Ever one for female attention, and against his friends` advice, Sonic heads off with her, only for her to morph into a slavering, genetically engineered killing machine!

He manages to escape, but is careful to keep the real story from his friends afterwards. It makes a refreshing change to see someone script the almighty hedgehog as quite so fallible.

Tails has accidentally stumbled upon the missing Jimmy and Jilly in the company of the goblin Prince Catalus - and having such a good time that they don`t want to be rescued! Sonic The Comic #31 - August 1994
"The Pretender"
Writer: Lew Stringer
Artist: Mike Hadley

A cocksure green hedgehog named Cosmic blasts into the Emerald Hill Zone, and challenges Sonic to a battle of skills. They race away, and as soon as they`re alone, Sonic runs rings around the stranger`s fancy moves. The stranger, unable to compete, flees defeated, but not before revealing itself to be... Can you guess?

Not only do we have the prospect of a more diverse recurring villain to look forward to, but yet another refreshing story where Sonic`s ego is his main weakness, rather than the factor which bores the villain into submission - even if the plot device of a new rival is a bit on the stale side.

"The Morbidden Hunt - Part Four"
Writer: Mark Eyles
Artist: Cassanovas

Queen Vulpecula lets the cornered foxes go, but is only prolonging the inevitable as the cubs begin to tire. They eventually find Prince Catalus waiting in a hiding place that he told them about, but it appears that he is only jealous of his sister, and wants to get rid of the foxes himself to spoil her fun! On the run again, they are forced to leap from the palace`s battlements and steal a flying ship, Errol Flynn style, before the cubs are returned to their` grateful mother and Tails returns to Mobius.

Sonic The Comic #32 - August 1994
"The Unbeatable Foe"
Writer: Nigel Kitching
Artist: Cassanovas

Firmly convinced that this particular plot device hasn`t been done to death over the previous two issues, a mysterious traveller wanders into the Emerald Hill Zone, bringing a computer as a gift for Sonic. It`s supposed to grant "mega-coolness beyond belief", but, since Sonic can`t see how he could possibly get any cooler, something must be wrong. Tails, however, sees a chance to finally catch up with his hero...

"No More Mr. Nice Bug - Part One"
Writer: Mark Eyles
Artist: Mike Hadley & John M. Burns

Cam `n` Bert, the Badnik Army Repair Functionaries (that`s B.A.R.F. for short, folks), carry out field repairs on a group of Moto Bugs that have been infected by a "nicenik" virus created by Porker Lewis. When two of the bugs have escape, they must track them down before they infect the whole army!

It`s at this point that the aim of Sonic`s World as being an introduction to Mobius is forgotten, in favour of more character-driven fare. And it never comes back.
